Our new computer controlled USB dimmer allows you to control our Flat Fielder from your computer.

Whether you have a remote observatory or just want to save time setting the brightness values of your flats, our USB Dimmer will be a perfect companion to our Flat Fielder

To use the Dimmer, plug the dimmer into the power supply included with your Flat Fielder, connect the included USB cable to your computer and install the software.

Adjust the brightness level as desired for your current equipment. Click the Save Preset button to save the brightness level. If your equipment is not in the dropdown lists, add them by selecting the 'Add' option in the dropdown lists.

When you choose the equipment in the dropdowns, the brightness value will change to match what was previously set.

What technology is used by the dimmer?

The USB Dimmer uses PWM to control our LED-based Flat Fielder.

Does your software require ASCOM?

No, our software does not require ASCOM drivers to be installed. It directly interfaces with the Dimmer, but one of our customers developed drivers for the panel that you can download from here

or if you can't use Alnitak emulation, Torben van Hees wrote a stand-alone ASCOM driver available here

What is your return policy?

If you are not satisfied for any reason, return the Dimmer in its original condition for 60 days for a full refund minus shipping.
